Mod Makeup Styles

Get ready to channel your inner Twiggy because today we’re breaking down the mod makeup look.

Mod Makeup Styles

Step 1: Bold Brows.

To pull off eye makeup like this, you want a full brow, so fill them in! Need help building your perfect frames? We can help you get better eyeshadow.

Step 2: Eyeshadow Base.

To create an even base and hold the eye makeup in place, start with an eyeshadow primer. We love Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden. Then wash a pale khaki-colored matte eyeshadow across the entire eyelid.

Step 3: Dramatic Crease.

Take a dark grayish taupe eyeshadow and apply it to the hollows of your eyes. Follow the crease from the inner corner all the way to the outer edge. Just this once, don’t go too crazy blending.

Step 4: Graphic Eyeliner.

The look is heavily defined eyes, but keep it from looking harsh by using an eye pencil instead of liquid liner. Wing the line down (rather than up, which creates more of a cat eye) slightly at the outer corner.

Step 5: Drop Eyeshadow.

Bring definition to the lower lash line by applying the same color you used to create your dramatic crease under your bottom lashes. Only sweep the eyeshadow in about halfway, to avoid closing off the eyes.

Step 6: Highlighter.

Using a pale pink or nude pencil, highlight your brow bone and the inner corners of the eye. Continue the color onto the waterline to really make your eyes pop.  We recommend Benefit Eye Bright or Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Sin.

Step 7: Extreme Eyelashes.

To finish off the look, curl your lashes and layer on as many generous coats of mascara as you please. Go the extra mile and add a set of false eyelashes. Shu Uermura Black V False Eyelashes were made for this look.
