The easiest way to achieve smooth and soft skin of the lips is to exfoliate it with a homemade lip scrub. I’m absolutely sure that at least one time in your life you had applied dark colored lipstick on your lips without a preparation and you know how bad it looked. In order to never do this again, you should learn how to prepare your lips and how to keep them in a good shape – it is all about the exfoliation. Let me show you how to do it right:
- First, you will have to soften the lip skin with the right product. You can do it with petroleum jelly, it will soften the skin indeed, but it won’t hydrate it, which means that you will have to hydrate the skin immediately right after the exfoliation procedure.
- Let the petroleum jelly work on the lips for a while, and during the softening procedure, you can prepare the homemade lip scrub. You will need only a little bit of white crystal sugar and a pinch of honey in order to create the exfoliating paste. Well, it will be better if you have a small container to mix the two ingredients.
- Then, wipe off the petroleum jelly and start rubbing the lips with the exfoliating mixture. You can use a baby toothbrush, because it has soft bristles and it will reach even the smallest pores of the lip skin.
- Then, rinse the lips with lukewarm water and apply hydrating lip balm.
