What Type of Sunglasses to Choose for Your Face Shape

There are two things connected to the forecast a woman should always carry in her bag despite of the season – an umbrella and a pair of sunglasses. If we have to be honest, not everyone watches the forecast regularly. And when it starts raining in the middle of the summer, you will be glad that you have listen to our advice and you have put a small umbrella in your bag to protect you from the rain.
As for the sunglasses, it is the same. People often forget about them and then they squint whenever the sun gets in their way. So, it is essential to have shades with you every day, especially in the summer. But since we want not only to protect our eyes, but also to look good, we should choose the best sunglasses for our face. Some people think that no type of sunglasses suits their face, but this is not true. They probably did not know how to test their face shape. Here are all the face shapes and the sunglasses shapes that will look good on them.
Square face shape
Square faces have a strong jawline, which is almost equal to the length of the forehead. The cheeks are often well-defined too. So, if this is your face shape, then you will need something softer to be in contrast of your features. If you choose sunglasses with a lot of sharp angles, they will give your face even more harsh look, and you will not want this. But you should also not go for the other extreme the round glasses. The shape of shades that will work best for you are the ones that have a little bit of the both worlds. Choose butterflies or aviator sunglasses. You can also play with the colors of the frames by choosing softer colors and avoiding black for once.
Heart face shape
Heart face shape is the one that has wider forehead than a chin, and not only this, but the chin is often quite sharp. The jawline is also not well-defined, while the forehead is sometimes quite big. Other times not so much, but compared to the chin, it looks very big. So, if this is your face shape, you should avoid sunglasses that will make the upper part of your face (your forehead especially) look even bigger. In other words, search for the balance in the sunglasses shape. That is why sunglasses, like cat-eye style will look best on your face. You can also wear butterflies, shield, or aviators. Choose your personal style.
Round face shape
As its name suggests, there are no sharp edges with round face shapes. The face is more circular, the length and the width are with almost equal sizes. Sometimes this is the reason why people with such faces look that have a little bit chubby cheeks, because the chin is not sharp as well. So, if you want to minimize the amount of chubbiness in your cheeks, or in other words, to make them thinner, avoid round sunglasses. If you have tried wearing such, you have probably found that they do not look on your face shape. Some of the best sunglasses shapes for you are the ones with more horizontal and rectangular frames. They will be the right balance that you need to make your cheeks slimmer. The most important rule is to avoid sunglasses with the same shape like your face.
Oval face shape
Oval face shape is probably the most flattering face shape, because it gives you freedom to more or less choose whatever kind of makeup you want, and thus you can almost wear anything when sunglasses are concerned. Oval face shape has a bit similar features to the round face, but in contrast with the round one, its length is bigger than its width. These faces are naturally contoured. If you have such face type, you need to remember that even if you have the freedom to choose whatever type of shades you want that you should not choose shades that are not too big or not too small. Right in between is the perfect balance for your face shape. The perfect shades for you are the ones that cover your face right from your eyebrows up to your cheekbones.

Diamond shape face
Diamond shape faces are the ones that have strong cheekbones, but not so strong jawline. In other words, the middle part of the face is the longest one, longer than the forehead. The chin is also defined and is a bit sharp. When choosing sunglasses for this face shape, you have to be careful not to choose ones that will accentuate on the cheekbones, since they are so close to the place where you are going to wear your shades. The best sunglasses for you are the ones with rimless frames or oval ones. They will soften the sharp cheekbones.
